79 – I-4 Dead Zone – Sanford, FL

Play

Can you hear me now? On this week’s episode, Harley and Amy take the long way to the oddity that is the I-4 Dead Zone in Sanford, FL.

***Warning. We have some audio anomalies, and we are back to blaming gremlins***

This oddity is creepy. This oddity got its start in the pioneer days when an unnamed family was not given a proper burial due to fear of yellow fever.

This family has haunted the area around the graves for over one hundred years, and for anyone that desecrates these graves, there is hell to pay. These graves are now under a major highway. Today there are tales of technology inexplicably failing in the area and ghostly voices over the radio.

If you are near Sanford Florida you should watch out for ghostly hitchhikers and don’t veer off the path.

We also discuss the town of Sanford. You can also visit for things other than the haunted highway. Sanford has one of the coolest zoos we have ever researched.

No Episode of the Travel Oddities Podcast would be complete without a place to grab a bite, and The Smiling Bison fits the bill. They have house made potato chips, cheesy bacon fat biscuits, a house-made spin on Cheez-Its, and something called The Brunch Dog.

The Top 5 list is filled with stupid laws.
