On this week’s episode, Brett and Amy get their subway passes out to explore one of the biggest tourist attractions during the last turn of the century and apparently one of the biggest spectral tourist attractions today.

Welcome to Brooklyn, NY and the Haunted Green-Wood Cemetery. With a population in the millions and annual deaths of about 50,000, you may wonder where do they go(literally and figuratively), and we have some answers.

This oddity is spooky, but don’t let that sway you from this … it’s part of the five bouroughs.

If you want to get a bird’s eye view of the area, may we suggest Deno’s Wonder Wheel? This iconic NYC Landmark is almost a hundred yeats old and has a PERFECT safety record.

Amy explains why she is too good to eat Katz’s Deli. You know, the 150 year old shining example of a classic Jewish deli?

If you are a pinball wizard, there may be some incriminating entries on this week’s TOP 5.

OS – Grave of Bert Barrett’s Left Arm – San Jose, CA

Play

Okay, it’s Monday and this is not a full show. We know that it is a little underhanded, but some of us are all thumbs and we fumbled the regular show. We try to take a hands-on approach to our release schedule, but even with all hands on deck the glitches got the upper hand on us. With that being said, you should’t bite the hand that feeds you because forgiveness goes hand in hand with happiness. On the other hand, you still have an Odd Spot to get you through the day. Episode 102 will be on hand next Monday, so we don’t have any blood on our hands.

This particular odd spot should be an armful of fun. Brett and Amy discuss the grave of Bert Barrett’s left arm in San Jose, California. How do you get a partial grave? What did they do with the rest of him? We will attempt to answer all of the important questions!

It might be playing into our hand, but you should totally listen to this show now!

The haunted Hot Lake Hotel has a very long and storied past that could not result in anything other than a gaping tear into the void.

This hotel may be haunted but since it is nestled in one of the most beautiful places in the country, you may not be able to resist a road-trip to check it out.

With over two million acres of national parks in the area, there are activities for everyone….even Amy.

We discuss Wallowa lake which is a must if you are the least bit interested in the outdoors and gorgeous vistas.

99 – The Spottsville Monster – Owensboro, KY

Play

We are back in Kentucky and hoping that we don’t offend the locals(like last time).

Brett and Amy are traveling to Owensboro and a spot on the map, called Spottsville to find an oddity that is so terrifying that the locals just call it the Spottsville monster.

So what is the Spottsville monster? How does a red-eyed, chicken stealing bigfoot sound?

This cryptid is spooky, but don’t let that sway you from the fun along the banks of the Green River.

There is more to do in the town of Owensboro than you could find at Disneyland.

We discuss the Haunts of Owensboro Ghost Tour and then Amy explains why haunted carriage rides are not for picky agoraphobes with no taste for the outdoors.

If you are planning a trip to hunt for the Spottsville Monster, be sure to pack your spell-book so you can try some voodoo Supernatural tricks which will be fully explained in this very special episode.

No Episode of the Travel Oddities Podcast would be complete without a place to grab a bite, and Amy and Brett decided to go all high class with Shrimp from Bill’s Restaurant.

The Top 5 some sticky stuff on the back, so we are going to write our grocery list on it….some of us need sleep, so deal with my weird ramblings or just listen to the damn show already.

Happy Monday, Odd Squad! On this super spooky episode of the Travel Oddities Podcast, Brett and Harley have partially recovered from an electrically charged ESP test just in time for a trip down the Haunted Ortega Highway in Lake Elsinore, California.

Highway 74 or the Haunted Ortega Highway has claims of hauntings and many other odd sightings, and since it has seen more than its fair share of death, it’s no wonder why it is considered one of the most haunted places in California. Road trips, even terrify road trips on haunted highways are our jam, but if you want to skip that piece, maybe you can “jump” past the obstacles. Skydive Elsinore is world renown of its thermals…so dive on in.
